Our Covid-19 Response and White Water Rafting Safety
Bubble Rafting
At Lake District White Water Rafting we take Covid-19 extremely seriously.
To reduce the possibility of virus transmission, our team has implemented new procedures to ensure everyone’s safe wellbeing, and be compliant with the new guidelines. We want to keep you safe, whilst giving you the same exceptional rafting experiences as before.
We invite you to come in your ‘Social Bubble’. Just let us know how many of you want to come, and we will make it happen, safely. Just like rafting, Covid-19 requires teamwork where we all have a role.

“We’re Good To Go” is the official UK mark to signal that Lake District White Water Rafting has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
What you can do:
Before the trip, please confirm that you are in a ‘Social Bubble’ and do not require physical distancing between yourselves
PLEASE Do not come if anyone in your group is showing signs of illness (coughing, fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing)
Upon arrival, each guest must sign a declaration of good health
Stick within your own bubble, and follow social distancing between other groups and our team members
Wash and sanitise your hands regularly, particularly before entering/ exiting the shuttle
Be ready to wear your face covering where social distancing cannot be fully observed
Be prepared that it may take a little longer to check you in, and hand out equipment, in order for us to follow new procedures
Be prepared that the showers may not be available during this time and toilets may be limited
What we are doing:
We have implemented physical distancing between us and your ‘Bubble’. We will provide facemasks to use when distancing isn’t fully possible.
Please note that our groups may be smaller than usual to ensure we keep a safe distance between us. We can currently accommodate minimum 1 and maximum 5 people per raft.
We have amended our T&Cs to allow cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. If it is really late notice, we can reschedule you instead.
We only allow one ‘Social Bubble’ to check in at a time
We temperature check each client at check in
We perform daily health assessments and temperature checks of all of our employees
We provide extra Covid-19 training for each of our employees
We provide face masks to be worn on land and on the shuttle bus. Masks must not to be used on rafts, as we feel they will create a significant safety risk.
We disinfect the shuttle, rafts and paddles before each trip
We wash and disinfect our Wetsuits and Buoyancy Aids between uses
We have provided extra hand sanitiser stations
We place all equipment into rotation so there is maximum time between uses
On rafts, you are only with people from your Booking Group, and you will be distanced from the Raft Guide
We have reduced numbers to maintain physical distancing
Raft guides will maintain physical distance from guests, but in rescue situations, this may not be possible
After each trip, guests remove equipment and place it into a designated area for us to clean later
Please note that we constantly review all new guidelines and update our response as required. Thanks for adventuring with us, we can’t wait to take you down the river!
