*This is a seasonal trip which is available in the South Lakes from August to April. If we need to move to the North Lakes then we will need to cancel your trip and we will issue a refund. Depending on how busy the day is, we may be able to offer the option to upgrade to the North Lakes Adventure.
Unsure whether to go for the Taster or Full? We recommend the Taster for children age 8 or 9 who are too young for the South Lakes Full Adventure.

At Lake District White Water Rafting, we specialise in fun outdoor adventure activities that the whole family can enjoy. You’ll all work together, just like a Viking Family, to get the down the river! We like to play games along the way, and also award special prizes to those who spot any wildlife… will you see any of the wild salmon, the birds of prey, or the red squirrels on your trip?

We will pass idyllic Lake District Cottages and stunning countryside, whilst enjoying the White Water. Great fun, whatever the weather – particularly if it’s raining!

On this adventure, Lake District White Water Rafting takes you on the best White Water rapids in England!
After a full safety briefing, the Rafts travel in convoy with their own fully qualified raft guide, who give instructions to keep everyone safe. There is lots of fun and interaction between the rafts!
Lake District White Water Rafting runs on natural rivers, and as such, every trip can be different. In periods of prolonged wet weather, the rapids can be bigger. In periods of prolonged dry weather, the rapids can be gentler. We raft in all weather conditions, whether it’s raining, sunny, or snowing. We say there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! As such, we have wetsuits for all conditions; to keep you cool in summer, and warm in winter. We raft in low and high water. Whatever the conditions, the raft guides will make sure that you all have an incredible experience!
We chase the water! We predict that we will be in Newby Bridge between August and April. However, where river conditions are not suitable, or safe, at this location, we will need to cancel the trip. If we can offer you the chance to upgrade to the new location we will.

- Trainers which can get wet (these need to have a good treaded sole and be securely fitted – wet suit boots with smooth soles are not appropriate, neither are flip flops or crocs)
- Swimwear & Towel
- Personal Medication (any which could be required)
- A National Trust Membership card to avoid any car parking fees
- If you wish to bring A Go-Pro (or any equivalent) please bring your own body harness as they cannot be mounted on helmets
